I’m guilty of being kind of addicted … ok … completely addicted to TikTok. I spend at least an hour a day on it during the week (since I’m now doing social media-free weekends) and honestly between the funny videos and cinematic masterpieces people make, there are videos that provide useful information.
One of these videos was a recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, so easy that I couldn’t believe my eyes. I noticed that the video went pretty viral, and multiple people had their own videos making the recipe for themselves. I had all of the ingredients, and plenty of free time (thanks, quarantine!) so I took it upon myself to see just how good these babies really were.
Spoiler alert: best cookies I’ve EVER made.
I’m going to spare you from having to scroll past a novel before getting to the recipe – if you’ve ever looked online at a food blog you know exactly what I mean – so here’s how to make them for yourself!
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Cup Smooth PB
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
PREP & BAKING:
- Preheat oven to 350
- Mix all ingredients until smooth
- Divide into ~12 balls, placed evenly spread apart on a cookie sheet so they have room to bake
- Cook around 10min
- depending on your oven it might take a longer or shorter amount of time, cookies should be relatively firm and should hold their own shape if you picked them up
- Take out, transfer to a drying rack, and let cool (or not) before chowing down
Pro tip: use Skippy PB, which already has added sugar, if you want to make them even more decadent.
These cookies MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. If you’re addicted to PB, these cookies will fulfill your wildest fantasy. No exaggeration – they’re that good.
I’m coining these ‘quarantine cookies’ since they’re the brainchild of being stuck indoors and wanting a treat to both lift my spirits and satisfy my ungodly chocolate and nut butter cravings.
Though I’m not sure who originally came up with the recipe, all credit goes to them!
